Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has stated that it is cause for celebration that the year 2022 was able to withstand the various difficulties it faced.
Adeboye argued that it was worthwhile to celebrate surviving banditry, kidnapping, COVID-19, as well as the “murderers wearing police uniforms.”

This was said by the eminent priest on January 1, 2023, during his sermon for the new year.
He assured the assembly that they had survived because God was watching over them.
Adeboye said;

You’re going to be helping yourself by visiting two or three people by telling them to celebrate you, tell them: Celebrate me, I’m a survivor.’
“When you say you’re a survivor, let your neighbor know. Ebola came, I survived, Coronavirus came, I survived, kidnappers are out there, I survived, bandits are out out there, I survived, there are murderers wearing police uniforms, I survived. Go ahead, tell three or four people: ‘I am a survivor. Celebrate me.’
