Debola stated that he can not count how many times he has been made to feel less of a person whenever he uses the airport.
He said that if he as a ‘rich and powerful Nigerian’ can be treated like a ”suitcase” whose voice is stripped away by the actions and inactions of people who never consider persons like him, what then happens to the average disabled Nigerian out there.
Speaking further, he wrote that one day, he would like to see accessibility and inclusion of persons with disability in planning and not just as an afterthought.
Write his thread below,
“From an accessible perspective, that concert was a disaster.
Maybe later I will do a thread about how Nigerian events constantly exclude people who look like me.
It’s quite humbling to be always ‘othered’ by an industry/country I love so much.”
