Tems made history earlier in the week.
The singer-songwriter whose real name is Temilade Openiyi, better known as Tems was nominated for the 2023 edition of the Oscars in the category of Best Original Song.
Tems was nominated for her contribution as a songwriter for Rihanna’s ‘Lift Me Up’, soundtrack for Marvel’s “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.”

The music sensation was involved in co-writing “Lift Me Up” with Barbadian singer, Rihanna; music producer, Ludwig Göransson; and Black Panther’s director, Ryan Coogler.

On Saturday, January 21, Alte singer, Ajebutter 22 released his new music album, Soundtrack To The Good Life.
The album features Nigerian musical acts like; Korormone, Ladipoe, Ajebo Hustlers, Jeff Akoh, Oxlade, Kida Kudz, Kidi, Joey B, Toby Shang, Mellissa and Not3s.

Afrobeats singer Seyi Vibez kicked off 2023 with the official video of his smash hit “Chance (Na Ham)“
He has continued to garner momentum from where he left off in 2022.
3. Minz– Wo wo
Minz, a fast-rising Nigerian musician dropped the visualizer to his captivating single “Wo Wo”, produced by Mike Bgrz and shot by Esiri Ogbekene.
4. Korede Bello– Available
Former Mavins records signee, Korede Bello released the music video for his latest single, “Available” earlier in the week.
5. Seyi Vibez– Alaska
Raving Nigerian singer, Seyi Vibez dropped the music video for ‘Alaska’ on the 10th of January.
The single is off his hugely successful EP, Memory Card.
6. DJ Spinall x Olamide x Kemuel- Bunda
“Bunda” is an insight to Spinall’s forthcoming studio project titled, “Top Boy“.

7. Kel P– One More Night
Nigerian music producer and singer-songwriter, Kel-P on Friday, January 20 released the audio and visuals for first solo single titled, “One More Night”.

Johnny Drille and Ayra Starr released Visual to the stripped version of their hit song “In The Light“
This version of the song highlights the raw emotion and vulnerability of the lyrics, with just a piano and vocals.
9. Tunde 2Deep– Success Fever
This was released on Tuesday, January 3.
Tunde 2Deep, kick starts the year with this astonishing video titled “Success Fever”, after the successful release of his melodious tracks titled “Ride On”, and “My Darling”, accompanied by an amazing music video, which is still topping charts and rocking airwaves nationwide.
10. Kizz Daniel– RITD (Rich Till I Die)
On the 6th of January 2023, the Afrobeat musician unleashed the video to his smash hit, “Rich Till I Die” (RTID) as promised.
The single has since gone on to become an anthem within a short while.
