Despite the collation of Saturday’s presidential election still ongoing, a former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has asked the Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, to accept defeat.
Fayose, a PDP chieftain, made the call in a tweet on Monday night. He asked the former vice president to concede and retire to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.

He wrote;
Our candidate, H.E. Atiku Abubakar (aka ‘Atiku is coming’) should accept defeat in maturity and retire peacefully to Dubai.
At this juncture, may I say good night and goodbye to all you represent.
Fayose is also among the main opposition party aggrieved chieftains asking for the removal of the PDP National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, following the emergence of Atiku as the party’s standard bearer in 2022.
Although Atiku has won some states in the already declared results, he is still trailing the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.
