A former former Governor of Plateau State, Jonah Jang, has debunked a claim that five aggrieved governors of the Peoples Democratic Party, known as G-5, are supporting the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu.
According to Jang, the claim is a figment of the imagination of Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, who is the Director General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council.

Jang, in a statement on Sunday by his media consultant, Clinton Garuba, described the presidential candidate of the APC, Tinubu, as a bad product, saying though the G-5 governors of the PDP have issues with the process leading to the emergence of the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, they would never support Tinubu.
In the statement titled “Governor Simon Bako Lalong Delusional Outing at Wase; Setting the Record Straight,” Jang said Nigerians no longer took Lalong seriously since “anything outside his written speeches are not only disjointed but also profane babbling that makes no semantic sense.”
He said;
An obvious sign that Governor Lalong is daydreaming is in thinking that the G-5 PDP governors and allies, including former Governor Jang, are supporting the APC presidential candidate.
They (G-5 governors) have repeatedly said that they do not have personal problems with the candidate of the PDP but with the process that brought him up and the ensuing structural imbalance it has created in the party.
Yes, the integrity group has disagreements with the PDP but their withdrawal of support from the PDP presidential candidate’s campaign does not in any way suggest that they support the APC candidate.
Only Lalong and his fellow dreamers think so and will stop at nothing to mislead the public in order to get favourable feedback for a bad product they so desperately want to sell.
Jang said the APC government had failed Nigerians and berated Lalong for promising to deliver Plateau State for the APC in the forthcoming general elections.

He said;
Having lost all the goodwill of 2015 and taking Nigeria, Plateau State inclusive, through harrowing times, the only thing the party can do is to whip up sentiments as it did in 2015.
However, they have failed to realise that Nigerians have seen them for who they truly are and will speak through the polls in a matter of weeks. Taking the governor seriously on his promise to deliver APC in all elections is like believing that the naira will be parallel to the dollar as promised or that electricity would be stable. What one can say at this point is believe the APC at your peril.
But the Chief Spokesperson for the Tinubu-Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, Festus Keyamo, berated Jang for attempting to speak for serving governors, who are alive.
Keyamo, in an interview on Sunday, said;
The G-5 issue is their internal problem. You have sitting governors who are struggling to find out where they stand. Jonah Jang should first be ashamed of himself.
Irrespective of where they stand, Nigerians as a whole have been treated to a spectacle of the G-5 governors and their rebellion within the PDP. If you have governors who cannot openly come out with their chests to say ‘Atiku Abubakar is our candidate, how is that the problem of the APC? Jang should concentrate on his own party and find a way to cover up the shame and the rebellion within the PDP. Let them leave us alone.
