Peter Okoye, Seun Kuti Feud Over 2023 Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi
Nigerian musicians, Peter Okoye and Seun Kuti have been going against each other following the latter’s comments about the 2023 presidential candidate for Labour Party, Peter Obi.
Seun Kuti who is the son of legendary Afrobeat connoisseur, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti during an interview session on the Mic On podcast hosted by Channels TV’s Seun Okinbaloye mentioned that Nigerians need to be educated ahead of the coming presidential election later in the month of February.
He didn’t stop there, he also accused Labour Party’s Peter Obi of being an opportunist for going from People’s Democratic Party (PDP) after losing the primaries to join Labour Party. It would be recalled that Peter Obi served as the Vice President to PDP’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar in 2019.
Unfortunately, the former Anambra state governor and the ex-Vice President of Nigeria did not emerge victorious.

He said, “He hasn’t had the time because he started too late. You can’t be telling me that just because you lost PDP primaries 18 months before the election, you suddenly started a movement, and you have a plan for the country.
No, that’s opportunism. And it’s not an opportunist that will deliver Nigeria—not jumping on Labour Party. The Labour Party has a socialist structure. Peter Obi is a capitalist. Where are they going?”
Following Seun Kuti’s comments about Peter Obi, Peter Okoye who has been a staunch supporter of the Labour Party’s presidential candidate decided to respond to Kuti’s statement via his Twitter account.
Peter Okoye fired back saying that Seun Kuti has ‘just erased his father’s history’.
