Former President Goodluck Jonathan has led representatives of the ECOWAS Election Monitoring Team to visit the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Ahmed Asiwaju Tinubu, in Abuja.
Jonathan also visited the Labour Party candidate, Peter Obi. Jonathan was with the former President of Ghana, John Mahama, during the visit.

He also revealed that the former Deputy Chair of the African Union, Dr Erastus Mwencha had earlier visited the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Atiku Abubakar and the New Nigeria People Party candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso.
PM News reported that the ECOWAS team appealed for calm in the country, as they also urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to look into the complaints raised by the aggrieved parties.
In the post he made via his verified Twitter handle, Jonathan said that the purpose of the visit to the candidates and other stakeholders was to “sue for peace as well as pursue the interest of our nation during and after the election.”
