Simi Frowns At Tinubu’s Usage Of Her Song, ‘Woman’ To Celebrate International Women’s Day

In 2022, Nigerian recording artiste, Simi released the sensational single, ‘Woman‘ off her music album, To Be Honest.

The single has since gone on to become one of the most popular songs in her impressive catalogue.

Due to the theme of the song, the president-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu used the song to honour the International Women’s Day event on Wednesday, March 8.

Simi, on the other hand, did not appear pleased with her sound being utilized after seeing one of the posts on her Twitter page.

The musician used a humorous emoji in his response to Tinubu’s statement, which caused some online discussion.

It would be recalled that on Wednesday, March 1, Bola Ahmed Tinubu was announced as the winner of the 2023 presidential election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) following the voting exercise that took place on Saturday, February 25.

In other news, INEC on Wednesday, March 8 announced the postponement of the 2023 gubernatorial election by a week. The exercise was supposed to take place on Saturday, March 11, however, it has been rescheduled to March 18th.
