Yakubu: Falz, Vector Ridicule INEC Chairman In New Single
Mahmood Yakubu is the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). He is the subject matter of rappers, Falz and Vector‘s latest eponymous satire.
The music video was released during the early hours of today, Thursday, March 30, several weeks after the 2023 presidential and gubernatorial elections.
The lyrics of the song was predominantly about the irregularities that played out during the general elections.

In the song, both artistes insinuated that the chairman of the electoral commission exhibited fraudulent behaviours during the just concluded general election.

They also captured some of the excuses INEC gave on why February 25 presidential results were not uploaded in real time on its portal in lyrics of the song.
Additionally, they discussed the issue of the security operatives during the election were also acted out in the music video.
They also recalled how youths were shot during the #EndSARS protest of 2020.

Equally, Mahmood Yakubu is a Nigerian academic and current chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission. Mahmood was appointed to office by President Muhammadu Buhari on 21 October 2015, succeeding Amina Zakari, who served as acting chairman.
