Ifeoma Kalu, wife of a former governor of Abia state and the chief whip of the senate, Orji Uzor Kalu, is dead.
Her death was announced by Mr Kalu via his verified Facebook page on Monday afternoon as he asked people to remember the bereaved family in their prayers.

However, the cause of death was not disclosed by the senator representing Abia North Senatorial District, who has publicly expressed his desire to become the next senate president of the nation.
She was aged 61.
