Innocent Onwuegbule, the owner of Delta State-based Great Leaders International School, has been arrested for injecting and mutilating the private part of a four-year-old female pupil.

According to an Instagram video posted on Wednesday by human rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu, the incident happened on October 4, 2023.

The video, which features a short interview with the mother of the child and the girl herself, reveals that Onwuegbule took the girl to the toilet, injected her and cut her with a pair of scissors.

“The guy who owns the school took the 4-year-old girl into the toilet, used scissors to tear the girl’s private part and injected her on the buttocks. Although they have arrested the man, nobody knows what the man used the girl to do. As the girl reached the house, she was urinating up and down. There was blood too. When the mother checked, she saw that her private part had become something else,” said Gwamnishu.

Also in the video, the girl’s mother demands justice for her child while stating that there have been suggestions for her to settle out of court.

“Dem dey tell me say make I go settle with the man. I no know wetin I wan take settle with the man. Na people [dey tell me that]. I need justice because the wey the matter take be now, dem dey look me like say I no get money, nobody to talk for me. That is why they are doing all those things,” she said.

The child’s voice could be heard saying, “Uncle school touched me. Uncle school cut me [with] the scissors … in the toilet.”

Police Intervenes

The proprietor of Great Leaders International School in Agbor-Obi has been taken into custody, according to the Delta State Command of the Nigerian Police Force, on suspicion of raping a four-year-old female student.

The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, made this disclosure in response to a social media post on Thursday.

Edafe said that the Area Commander in Agbor had verified that the event had occurred two weeks prior and that the culprit had been apprehended.

The PPRO said, “The Area Commander just called that this incident happened two weeks ago, though the owner of the school denied it, the Area Commander Agbor and not the Division is currently handling it.

“I will revert when I get the full update, but what I am assuring us is that justice will prevail.

“However, we should avoid settlement because these days parents especially from rural areas go behind the police and collect money from suspects thereby making prosecution very difficult.”
