Move over, disco lights! The Federal Government’s throwing a whole new kind of rave for Nigeria’s hustlers in 2024. Forget 4-hour naps between blackouts, we’re talking eight glorious hours of uninterrupted electricity and power for those Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across the nation!

President Bola Tinubu’s got the DJ spinning, and guess who’s the hype man? None other than the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), ready to bust a move and light up every corner of this entrepreneurial fiesta. Temi Adekunle-Johnson, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Job Creation and MSMEs, dropped the mic on Channels TV’s “2023: Year of Transition” program, declaring: “We’re about to throw the biggest power party for the little guys!”

Adekunle-Johnson further said, “We are in deep discussion with the REA. trying to install solar-powered access for MSMEs across many markets.

“What we are doing is that where you have a market that has a cluster of small businesses – maybe a thousand of them – we are trying to power those markets to ensure that these MSMEs come into their businesses daily, they have guaranteed eight hours of light.”

Imagine, no more scrambling for generators like rats on “colos.” No more invoices reading like horror stories. No more “Sorry, network down” excuses for your online store. This is 2024, baby, and MSMEs are about to shine brighter than a disco ball dipped in gold!

So, if you’re a hustler with a dream, get ready to plug and play. From fashion designers rocking the runway to welders welding their way to the top, the power grid’s about to become your new best friend. And who knows, maybe next year, we’ll have enough juice to power up those flying cars Elon Musk keeps promising!

Hold on to your hard hats, Nigeria’s mini-moguls, the future’s looking brighter than a thousand watt bulb! ⚡️
