Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), sent a stern message to kidnappers and their accomplices operating in the capital city, announcing the capture of informant networks and vowing to dismantle their criminal operations.
Speaking at a town hall meeting with stakeholders and residents in Gwagwalada Area Council on Friday, Wike declared, “The end has come for kidnappers, bandits and their informants in the FCT.” He further confirmed the recent arrest of individuals aiding kidnappers with crucial information, highlighting the ongoing efforts to disrupt their activities.
Wike’s statements come amidst growing concerns about a recent surge in kidnappings within the FCT, prompting residents to demand stronger security measures. The Minister’s message aimed to reassure the public and demonstrate the government’s commitment to tackling the issue head-on.
He elaborated on the ongoing strategies, stating, “Security agencies and I will follow up so you won’t enter Gwagwalada again.” This suggests enhanced collaboration between authorities and community leaders, potentially involving increased patrols, intelligence gathering, and community-based initiatives.
