In a statement issued on Sunday, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), called for spiritual intervention to address the challenges facing Nigeria. During a meeting with Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, Adeboye emphasized the limitations of purely political solutions and urged Nigerians to seek divine assistance.
Beyond the Political Sphere:
Adeboye expressed his belief that Nigeria’s problems transcend the political realm, stating, “Our problems will require quite a bit of spiritual solution.” He acknowledged the efforts of government officials but suggested that “when you have problems that are beyond human ability to solve them, you call on the Almighty.”
Blessed Yet Struggling:
The RCCG leader highlighted the nation’s abundance of resources and intelligent citizens, contrasting it with the ongoing challenges. He remarked, “We are blessed with all manner of resources and yet we have so many problems.” This statement underscores the paradox of Nigeria’s potential and its current state.
Appealing to the Divine:
Adeboye’s call for spiritual solutions resonates with the deep religious faith held by many Nigerians. He attributed the power to solve complex problems to God, stating, “The reason we call Him the Almighty is because He has the power to solve all problems.”
He said, “I have come again this time around because it has become clearer to us that the problems our nation is facing is more than political. Our problems will require quite a bit of spiritual solution.
“We, as a country, are blessed. We are blessed with people with great intelligence. We are blessed with all manner of resources and yet we have so many problems.
“It is not as if people in authority are not trying their best. They are doing as much as humanly possible and then we found out that when you have problems that are beyond human ability to solve them, you call on the Almighty. The reason we call Him the Almighty is because He has the power to solve all problems.”
