HabariPay Take-On-Squad Hackathon Crowns Winning Teams in Innovative Solutions Showcase
Three teams emerged victorious in the inaugural HabariPay Take-on-Squad Hackathon 1.0, a coding competition held at the GTCO Training Complex from January 18th to 20th. Following days of intense collaboration and problem-solving, Team Storepoint, Team X, and Team Within impressed judges with their innovative solutions and secured prize money totaling N5 million.
Winning Projects and Teams:
Team Storepoint (3rd Place, N1 million): Haruna Faruk and Ladipo Samuel from the University of Lagos developed “Storepoint,” an online marketplace for local shops and businesses, offering quick access and streamlined payments via Squad’s API.
Team X (2nd Place, N1.5 million): Muktar Jimoh Yusuf, Rasheed Taiwo Mudasiru, and Mukhtar Abdulfatai from the Federal University of Technology, Minna, utilized AI and machine learning to revolutionize bundled payments.
Team Within (1st Place, N2.5 million): Inuoluwadunsimi Daniel Ola-oladeinde, Atayero Ayomide Samuel, and Hamzat Victor Oluwabori, students of Obafemi Awolowo University, impressed with their solution streamlining school departmental payments and contributions.
Evaluation Criteria:
Each team’s project was judged based on its real-world applicability, technical creativity, user experience, and teamwork, showcasing the event’s focus on practical solutions.
