A pregnant woman on Monday was delivered of a baby boy at the Onipanu bus stop in Lagos state.
According to witnesses, the woman suddenly went into labour at the bus stop on Monday morning.
Officials of the Lagos Rescue Team and Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) and some market women created a makeshift arrangement for the pregnant woman.
In a statement, Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, permanent secretary of LASEMA, said the woman and her baby were taken to the hospital after the delivery.
“Fortunately, the woman was successfully delivered a bouncing baby boy amidst jubilation,” the statement reads.
“The officials after stabilising the mother and newborn infant quickly transported them to the nearest hospital for further medical care and attention.”
