LOGIC Ministry Celebrates International Women’s Day with a Call to Embrace Identity in Christ
The Women In Christ Ministry (WIC) of the Love of God in Christ Church (LOGIC) in Lagos, Nigeria, held a program on Friday night to celebrate International Women’s Day (IWD). The theme of this year’s IWD is “Inspire Inclusion”.
Pastor Amaka Flourish-Peters, the WIC Lead and Co-Pastor of LOGIC, used the occasion to encourage women to recognize their inherent worth, embrace their identity in Christ, and live out the transformative power that comes with that faith.
“Our celebration of IWD goes beyond acknowledging societal roles,” Pastor Flourish-Peters stated. “We gather to celebrate our deeper identity, inclusion, and divine calling in Christ.”
The WIC ministry, she explained, aims to create a community where women can discover their true nature, position, and purpose within their faith. Their mission, she added, is rooted in the transformative power of God’s grace, seeking to empower women in all aspects of life and make that grace visible to the world.
Pastor Flourish-Peters emphasized that a woman’s true identity lies not in worldly achievements or possessions, but in being a part of Christ. This realization, she argued, elevates women above materialistic definitions of worth and grounds their value in their relationship with Christ.
“Knowing who we are in Christ transforms how we view ourselves and our capabilities,” she said. “As women in Christ, we embody grace, strength, and dignity bestowed upon us by our faith. We are unique bearers of His light and love.”
Pastor Flourish-Peters concluded by urging the women to let their identity in Christ permeate every aspect of their lives. Their thoughts, actions, and interactions, she said, should reflect the grace and truth they find in their faith.
