Tubaba Sparks Divorce Rumors with Instagram Posts, Retracts Claims, Then Reaffirms Them (VIDEO)
Renowned Nigerian music legend, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as Tubaba, ignited a social media frenzy on Sunday after posting cryptic and shocking messages on his Instagram stories (@official2baba).
In the now-deleted post, Tubaba hinted at a possible separation from his wife, actress Annie Macaulay-Idibia. The message read:
“Hello to my beautiful people of all federations. Well, this thing I have to say is short but also long. Annie Macaulay and I have been separated for a while now and currently filed [for] divorce. I would grant a press release soon to say my story—not because it is anyone’s right to know about my personal life, but because I love my people and I need them to know my innocence or offense. Stay blessed, my people. I love you all.”
The post immediately went viral, sparking widespread speculation about the state of the couple’s marriage. Tubaba and Annie, who tied the knot in 2012, are considered one of Nigeria’s most iconic celebrity couples, often showcasing their love publicly despite occasional controversies.
However, in a surprising turn of events, Tubaba followed up with another Instagram story, claiming that his account had been hacked. “My Instagram account has been hacked. Efforts are being carried out to take back control. #OneLove,” he wrote.
The rollercoaster did not end there. Shortly after the hacking claim, Tubaba posted a video message addressing the confusion. In the clip, he doubled down on his earlier statement, saying:
“Nobody hacked me. I mean wetin I yarn. Thank you.”
The conflicting messages have left fans and followers confused, with many debating the authenticity of the posts and the true state of his relationship with Annie. Neither Annie nor her representatives have publicly commented on the matter at the time of this report.
This is a developing story.
