COVID-19: Lagos Discharges Oldest Coronavirus Patient, 25 Other Recovered Patients
Lagos state government has discharged a 98–year-old woman, said to be oldest coronavirus patient, alongside 25 other recovered patients.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu revealed this via his official Twitter handle on May 13, saying the patients were discharged after testing negative twice.
The patients were discharged from Yaba, Onikan, and Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) Isolation facilities. Those discharged include 13 males and 13 females.
With this, the total number of discharged cases in Lagos is now 528.
Today, we discharged a 98 year old woman, our oldest #COVID19 patient in Lagos. She joined 25 others; 13 males and 12 females, discharged from our isolation centres after testing negative for #COVID19, bringing the total of our successfully managed and discharged patients to 528.

He also appealed to Lagos residents to continue to follow all public health guidelines and observe social distancing.

Meanwhile, Lagos state Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi has corrected an error made on Tuesday regarding the death of a coronavirus patient in the state.
Prof. Abayomi had announced via a tweet that a man among the 256 Nigerians recently evacuated from Dubai died of coronavirus.
He has however clarified that the announcement was a presumed coronavirus related death and that the test result of the patient is being awaited.

The commissioner apologized for the misinterpretation caused by his post.

As at press time, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported 1,990 coronavirus cases in Lagos, 502 discharged and 33 deaths.
