The craze about purchasing iPhones in Nigeria is steadily getting out of control. To begin,majority of users don’t even know how to use an iPhone, it’s more of a fashion statement -an opportunity to“feel among”. A week ago I had lunch with a couple of friends and sat down close to a bevy of young ladies who seemed to be having a good time.
I stylishly looked over at their table to find iPhone 6 phones scattered around. I thought to myself -if only they knew how to operate the device other than taking selfies. Call it beef but the truth remains that most Nigerians are flashy. They believe what they show is what they actually have.
When you buy an Apple iPhone, you are really buying an experience. Apple iPhone users (generally) want a smartphone that is actually smart.
They do not care so much about specifications as much as they do the experience using the iPhone or about the number of features as they do the experience of those features that are available. For that, they are willing to buy at any price.
Other than Social media,the iphone can automatically and continuously back itself up to iCloud. If something bad happens, the user can restore the entire contents of the iPhone using nothing more than an Internet connection. You don’t even need to use iTunes on a computer to perform this backup and/or restore process. An android has limited access to do such.
Android manufacturers can get away with low margins and therefore, lower prices, because Google provides the Android OS free of charge. On top of that, Google finances the infrastructure for free services that they provide to the Android platform, like Google Drive. With the exception of any custom software or services provided by the Android smartphone manufacturer, everything on the Android platform is being financed and maintained by Google.
Apple, on the other hand, has development teams working on the iOS operating system and supporting software and services like iTunes, the App Store, iMessage, FaceTime and iCloud. They also build and maintain their own infrastructure to support those services. All that comes at significant price. For example, a Data Centre in Maiden,North Carolina costs a staggering US$ 1 billion to build.
Apple is more likely to be sued in case there is a virus breaching their software that’s why they have the most secure infrastructure in the market right now. Android on the other hand have sent out a disclaimer clearly stating that if the software eventually ends up being corrupted due to downloads,they will not be held liable. In other words,you are on your own.
So the next time you see an iPhone priced way high, calm down,they are meant to be expensive because it’s in a league of its own.

Samsung over itoy any time any day? Who told you android can’t back up everything on it? What is it that can’t be back up? Is it contact, pix or video? Who penned those white lies? Iphone that can’t even reply an email with attachment, is that what you called smart? Gone are the days when people fell for Apple lies, it is for that reason Samsung is now out selling Iphone. Apple still using Lcd screen in 2016 when Samsung is already using not just amoled but super amoled display. It is shame that some people still fall this. Apple has been hacked several times, even more than android of higher iteration like lollipop and mashallow. The only area where android adds a disclaimer is apps downloaded outside Google play. Android, because of its robust nature, allows the downloads of app outside Google play and some of those apps may be corrupt ,hence the disclaimer.Android rules jor, especially on highest end Samsung phones . I hate mtk devices .
Some people are so funny that they held on to obsolete facts. Samsung s7 can’t even stand lg g3 in terms of display let alone another. IPhone latest iOS can send attachment like tomorrow go dey. IPhone isn’t just a machine or device but a robot. Comparing iPhone with other smartphones is understatement , if you aren’t using it and doesn’t want to be addicted to apple products don’t just try iPhone at all because if you do you won’t be able to use any other phone, I bet.
