Veteran Nollywood Actress, Ify Onwuemene Seeks Financial Support As She Battles Cancer
Veteran Nollywood actress, Ify Onwuemene has been battling endometrial cancer and is currently seeking financial assistance.
Endometrial cancer is a type of cancer that affects the endometrium (the lining of the uterus or womb. It is the result of the abnormal growth of cells that have the ability to invade or spread to other parts of the body.
The news of her health condition was shared on Instagram by her another veteran actress, Gloria Anozie Young, saying that the illness has left Onwuemene emaciated.
Young in her caption is appealing to well-meaning members of the public to help the actress financially, who is popular for her role in the TV soap, ‘Everyday People’ where she played the role of the wife of late Sam Loco Efe.
Onwuemene’s colleague also disclosed that all previous attempts by the ailing actress to raise funds for her treatment had been fruitless.
Young wrote;
Folks please we need help for our sister Ify Onwuemene, an actress from the days of Sam loco and Enebeliuwa. I worked with her last on the set of Tajudeen Adepetu’s Everyday People in the late ’90s. She is down with endometrial cancer. She has tried sourcing for funds on her own, but nothing is too small. Please send whatever you can to Ifey Onwuemene, Fidelity Bank 6010999993. Thank you.
Young also posted a video of the ailing actress personally addressing the public to seek financial aid.

The cancer reportedly caused her womb to be removed and buckets of fluids were drained from her stomach.
Onwuemene is seeking now financial help to continue treatment.
