Nigerian Immigration Service Rescue Children Abducted From Child Trafficking In Oyo State
Officers from the Nigerian immigration Service and Oyo State Police command have rescued about a hundred children, who were victims of internal and international trafficking during various operations at different locations within Oyo state in the last four months.
The Oyo State Comptroller, Mrs. Victoria Isangedighi, in her statement explained that not less than 75 of the rescued children were minors who were suspected to have been deceived by their distance relatives from their parents who planned to use these children for hard labour and worse yet prostitution especially in Europe.
Mrs.Isangedighi, added that the Command has also apprehended over 2,000 illegal immigrants into the country, with either fake or invalid documents and have currently confiscated their documents pending when they get further instructions from their respective embassies.
