Onigbongbo LCDA Chairman, Babatunde Oke Dies Of COVID-19
Chairman of Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area in Lagos State, Babatunde Oke has died from coronavirus on Wednesday, August 12.
Oke, who recently contracted the virus, was receiving treatment at the Gbagada isolation centre.
According to a post on Facebook page, Oke died in the early hours of Wednesday at St. Nicholas Hospital on Lagos Island, where he was moved to when his illness became critical.
Oke until his death was spending his second term as the council chairman.
Reacting to the demise, Chairman of Conference 57, a group of 57 council chairmen in Lagos, Mrs Omolola Essien, expressed shock, describing it as “sad and unfortunate.”
He is the second council boss to die of COVID-19. In June, Augustine Adeoye Arogundade, chairman of Agbado/Oke-Odo LCDA also passed away as a result of COVID-19.
