Just In: Lagos Health Commissioner, Akin Abayomi Recovers From COVID-19
Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Akin Abayomi, has recovered from coronavirus seven days after announcing he tested positive.
Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Lagos State, Gbenga Omotosho, made this known on Monday, August 31.

Announcing Abayomi’s recovery, Omotosho stated;
It is with gratitude to God that I announce the recovery and subsequent negative test for COVID-19 of the Honorable Commissioner for Health, Professor Akin Abayomi.

He stated that following the mandatory isolation, the Commissioner retook a COVID-19 PCR test which returned negative on Sunday evening.

Omotoso stated that the health commissioner will returning to his full duties gradually and remains resolute in delivering the mandate of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

The Commissioner for Information added that Professor Abayomi is very grateful for concern shown and expressed by Executive Council members, civil servants, Lagos residents, Nigerians, both locally and in the diaspora.

He expressed that Governor Sanwo-Olu, who functions as Incident Commander, is excited by the news and urges Lagosians to keep obeying safety guidelines.
