Federal Government has approved the reopening all schools across the country, following six months of shutdown due to coronavirus pandemic.
MDB reported that FG had since March ordered the closure of tertiary institutions, secondary and primary schools nationwide following the outbreak of coronavirus in the country.
However, graduating students in senior secondary schools were later on permitted to take part in West African Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE) in August.

Minister of education, Adamu Adamu, made the announcement during a press briefing in Abuja on Friday, October 2, explaining that the COVID-19 curve has been flattened.
He advised all institutions to obey and adhere to the guidelines for the reopening of schools, earlier announced by the presidential task force.

Adamu said all unity schools should open by October 12 while states and private schools will “determine their own modalities of reopening” and ensure that there are adequate safety measures while doing so.
He equally warned that schools who fail to adhere to outlined COVID-19 safety protocols, risk closure if there is any outbreak from such learning facilities.

Many states including Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Kano and Enugu, have earlier approved reopening of schools and resumed for a new session.
