Aliyu, son of former-vice president, Atiku Abubakar, and Fatima, daughter of ex-EFCC chairman, Nuhu Ribadu, have gotten married in Asokoro, Abuja on Saturday, October 3.
According to an invitation by the two families, the wedding Fatiha took place at 18 Mambilla Street Aso Drive, Abuja at 11am.
Various dignitaries attended the wedding including Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Governor Nasir El-Rufai, Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, Governor Aminu Tambuwal.
The announcement about their wedding few days ago sparked a buzz on social media as many Nigerians expressed surprise that the politicians put aside their political differences for the marriage.
Although both parents are from Adamawa State, they belong to different political parties.
Atiku, who bears the title of Wazirin Adamawa, is a member of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), while Ribadu, is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Ribadu’s daughter, Fatima graduated from the Nigerian Turkish International College in Abuja in 2015 before going abroad for university education. She is in her early 20s.
Aliyu is the son of Atiku’s third wife, Princess Rukaiyatu, daughter of the Lamido of Adamawa, Aliyu Mustafa. He is the third child and was named after Atiku’s father.
The bride was looking pretty in a lovely wedding gown while the groom rocked an agbada complemented with a turban.
