NCDC Announces 1074 New COVID-19 Cases, 660 Recoveries, 5 Deaths
Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Friday, January 1 announced 1,074 new coronavirus cases, 660 successfully treated patients and 5 deaths.
The health agency made the announcement via its Twitter page with the new cases recorded in 14 states and Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The breakdown of the new cases are as follows; Lagos-642, Kaduna-92, Rivers-78, FCT-66, Gombe-66, Kano-35, Ogun-31, Katsina-22, Plateau-20, Abia-7, Niger-4, Oyo-4, Akwa Ibom-3, Delta-2 and Osun-2.

With the new toll, the total number of cases in the country has now increased from 87,510 to 88,587 while figures of discharged patients moved from 73,713 to 74,373.
A total of 1,294 deaths have now been recorded thus far in Africa’s most populous country as 5 new deaths was reported yesterday.
Our discharges today include 459 community recoveries in Lagos State and 156 community recoveries in Katsina State managed in line with guidelines.
