A US-based lady named Tessica Brown has sought medical treatment after going viral on social media for applying permanent glue to her scalp.
The young lady using the TikTok handle Im_D_Ollady earlier in the week issued warning against using adhesive on the hair, revealing that she fell victim by using Gorilla Glue to “finish off” her hairdo.
In a series of now-viral videos, Brown revealed that her hair has been stuck in the style of a braided ponytail for about a month after she sprayed Gorilla Glue on her actual hair.
Brown explained she had run out of her go-to hair spray one day and decided to use the Gorilla Glue spray as a substitute. Weeks and more than a dozen washes later, Brown’s hair has remained unmoved.
In the videos, she said;
Hey, y’all. For those of you that know me know that my hair has been like this for about a month now. It’s not by choice. No, it’s not by choice,” she said at the top of the video. When I do my hair, I like to finish it off with a little Göt2b Glued Spray, you know, just to keep it in place. Well, I didn’t have any more Göt2b Glued Spray, so I used this: Gorilla Glue spray. Bad, bad, bad idea.

Brown went on to say that she had washed her hair 15 times and saw zero improvement. She then ran her hands over her laid-back hair to demonstrate the severity of her situation.
She expressed;
My hair, it don’t move. You hear what I’m telling you? It. Don’t. Move. So I’ma tell y’all like this: If you ever, ever run out of Göt2b Glued Spray, don’t ever use this. Unless you want your hair to be like that forever.

Brown then took out a bottle of shampoo, lathered it up in her hands, and then vigorously applied it to her hair. As expected, zero movement.
Someone at Gorilla Glue caught wind of Brown’s issue, and provided some suggestions. The company advised her to soak her hair with warm water or rubbing alcohol.

Her video has since gone viral on Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok with views topping of a million and thousands of comments.
Tons of people have sent her well-wishes, noting that while the situation is somewhat humorous, it’s also super serious and probably not very enjoyable for Brown. Some celebs even shouted her out, including Chance the Rapper.

Gorilla Glue has however reached out to a beauty expert who wrote them on how the lady could salvage the situation.
The company’s response reads:
Thanks for reaching out.
We do not recommend using our products in or on hair as they are considered permanent. If someone does use this on their hair, they can try soaking the affected area in warm, soapy water or apply rubbing alcohol to the affected area. In this case, the less aggressive solvent for her hair/scalp would be rubbing alcohol and we suggest that she saturate her hair, gently comb it out and then use shampoo. If her hair has truly been glued down to her scalp and immobile for a month with that many aggressive attempts to wash it out, it is possible her hair is fractured at the root but we certainly hope for the best.
Her marketing team reached out to us and we have offered to speak with her to share these suggestions as well as checked in on her wellbeing. Safety is our top priority.
Giving an update about her situation on Saturday, the Louisana TikToker posted an Instagram photo of the St. Bernard Parish Hospital Emergency Room in Chalmette.
She didn’t reveal any details about her visit and simply captioned the image with a single-tear-face emoji.

In a subsequent post, Brown is seen lying on a hospital bed as a medical staffer appears to apply some kind of topical to her hair.
However, she remained tight-lipped about the treatment she was receiving, as the caption included a series of prayer hand emojis and nothing more.
In another post, she was seen in a video screeching with pain as someone made effort to help her with her.
