Super Eagles of Nigeria squad have arrived in Porto Novo ahead of 2022 AFCON qualifiers clash with Benin Republic on Saturday, March 27.
The players and coaching team left Nigeria on Friday morning, March 26, by boat due to the proximity of both West African countries. They arrived in Porto Novo at about 1:59 PM.

Gernot Rohr’s men upon arrival in the city by boat had their mandatory COVID-19 tests.
The team announced their arrival via official Twitter page, saying;
We have arrived in Porto Novo. We also had our mandatory Covid test done at the point of entry. We’ve settled in and lodged at the Golden Tulip Le Diplomat Hotel in Cotonou.

Nigeria are billed to take on the Squirrels of Benin Republic in a Group L 2021 AFCON qualifier on Saturday, aiming to book a place in the competition scheduled to take place in Cameroon.
The match is a must-win for both nations with Nigeria leading the Group L table after picking up eight points from four matches while the Benin Republic are in the second spot with seven points.
