Singer, David Adeleke, better known as Davido, has sparked varying reactions online by soliciting funds from ‘true friends’ to clear his Rolls Royce from the seaport.
It all started with a tweet on Wednesday with the ‘OBO’ crooner asking his true fans and followers to send him money to clear his car from the seaport just in time for his 29th birthday.
The music star in a post shared via his Instastory channel explained that most of his life he has lived by his words of lifting those around him up and supporting them in his own way.
Davido, however, stated that it is also time for people to come through for him and extend the same kindness and generosity to him.
He challenged his true friends to send the sum of one million naira each to his bank account. Davido noted that anyone that doesn’t come through with the challenge should not associate with him anymore.
The tweet reads;

Shortly after, he shared his account number and in about 10 minutes, he announced that he had received N7m.

The singer also disclosed that he was soliciting funds to facilitate the clearance of his Rolls Royce, the British automobile brand, at the ports.

Later on, he began to call out his celebrity friends on Instagram, asking them to send him money.

Two hours after posting his bank account details, he tweeted a photo of his account balance.

Some celebrities who sent Davido money include Zlatan, Peruzzi, Chief Priest, Femi Otedola, Obi Cubana, Mr Eazi and Focalistic.

Recall that in May 2020, the Afropop star acquired a brand new 2021 Rolls Royce Cullinan.

It also remains to be seen if that is the vehicle the singer is soliciting funds to clear from the ports. It is believed that the 2021 Rolls Royce Cullinan is worth $330,000 (an estimated N136,125,000).
In 2019, Davido also took delivery of a brand new Lamborghini Urus, an SUV manufactured by Lamborghini, an Italian automobile brand, worth an estimated N72 million.
