Buhari Arrives Lagos For Book Launch Of Former APC Chairman, Bisi AkandePresident Muhammadu Buhari has on Thursday, December 9 arrived in Lagos State for the public presentation of ‘My Participations’, the autobiography of Bisi Akande, former interim chairman of All Progressives Congress.

Buhari reportedly touched down at the Presidential Lounge of Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos in the early hours of the day.

The event will take place at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island area of the state.

The President was received at the airport by Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and other officials.

During the one-day visit, Buhari is also expected to commission naval boats and helicopters.

According to a statement by Tunde Rahman, media aide of Bola Tinubu on Wednesday, Buhari is the special guest of honour at the event; Babajide Sanwo-Olu, governor of Lagos, is the chief host, while Tinubu, national leader of APC, is the guest of honour.

In his foreword on the book, Wole Soyinka, Nobel laureate, described the autobiography as “a national gift that could not have been more instructively timed”.

Prior to Thursday’s visit, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) had on Wednesday issued a traffic advisory to commuters.

In a statement, LASTMA noted that;

Ahmadu Bello Way, from Adeola Odeku Intersection to Adetokunbo Ademola by Eko Hotels Roundabout will be temporarily closed to traffic and traffic diverted to Adeola Odeku, Akin Adesola to connect desired destination.

Akin Adesola connecting Ahmadu Bello Way by IMB will be temporarily closed to traffic and traffic will be diverted to Oyin Jolayemi, Oko Awo and Sanusi Fafunwa to connect desired destinations.

From Ozumba Mbadiwe (Civic Centre) to Adetokunbo Ademola to Eko Hotels Roundabout traffic will be temporarily diverted after Eko Hotels Roundabout to
i) Ajose Adeogun,
ii) Sanusi Fafunwa or
iii) back to Civic Centre to connect destination.

The traffic management agency said;

All alternative routes shall be effectively managed by security and  law enforcement personnel to reduce unnecessary delays.

The agency noted that;

All adjoining streets / feeder roads leading  to Ahmadu Bello Way from Adeola Odeku Intersection, as well as those leading to Eko  Hotels, from Adetokunbo Ademola Roundabout (Eko Hotels Roundabout) will be temporarily closed to traffic from early hours of the day on Thursday 9th December, 2021.
