The 2022 Billboard Music Awards has been held, honouring artists across genres whose music has received the most fanfare over the past year.
The bulk of the awards were handed out during a TikTok livestream on Sunday night, May 15, while the rest of the winners were revealed at a ceremony held at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena tonight.
The 2022 Billboard Music Awards kicked off without a hitch with Sean “Diddy” Combs hosting the 29th edition of the show.

The award show gave out trophies to the musicians who have achieved success via album and song sales and streams, radio play, touring, and social engagement.
The BBMAs 2022 featured performances by Megan Thee Stallion, Silk Sonic, Burna Boy, Florence + The Machine, Ed Sheeran and Machine Gun Kelly.

Olivia Rodrigo, Kanye West and Doja Cat were the big winners at the Billboard Music Awards 2022.
Rodrigo took home the most awards on the night with seven, while West followed on six wins at this year’s BBMAs. The ‘Sour’ star collected Top New Artist, Top Hot 100 Artist, Top Female Artst and more.
West picked up trophies including Top Christian Artist, Top Gospel Artist and Top Christian Album and Top Gospel Album, both for ‘Donda’. Doja collected four awards on the night, including Top R&B Female Artist and Top R&B Album for ‘Planet Her’.
Also, Megan Thee Stallion own an award for top rap female artist.
Going into the ceremony, The Weeknd led the pack of nominees with 17 nods. His duet “Save Your Tears (Remix)” with Ariana Grande was up for an impressive six nominations.
The 32-year-old’s future “After Hours Til Dawn” touring partner Doja Cat trailed right behind him with 14 nominations.
Justin Bieber, Kanye West, and Olivia Rodrigo were all up for 13 nominations each.
Drake had 11 chances at a trophy in some of the nights biggest categories including top artist, top male artist, top Billboard 200 artist and top Hot 100 artist
He was also up in the Billboard 200 album category for “Certified Lover Boy.” Dua Lipa and Ed Sheeran trailed closely behind him with nine nominations each.
The most-nominated duo/group of the 2022 BBMAs was BTS, who’ve topped the Billboard Hot 100 twice over the past year with “Butter” and “Permission to Dance.”
Additionally, Mary J. Blige was honored with the coveted Billboard Icon Award to celebrate her decades-long success as a musician.
