Opened Instagram and saw Laide Bakare’s 13 year old daughter, gifting her 9year old brother a car. Not a toy car, an actual car that drives.
I just closed the app. I don’t want my intelligence insulted today.

Its only on Instagram Laide Bakare can sell that kind of zobo and go away with it because where will a 13 year old girl get the money to buy car and present it to her younger brother? Did she start hustling from womb? What’s so difficult in admitting yo buy car for you kids?

Lax Parenting Or Not? – An Analysis
The visceral need to always be in the news drives celebrities to engage in matters, sometimes at variance, with logic — introducing Laide Bakare.
Oftentimes, the impacts and ramifications of their actions are far-reaching especially on this ubiquitous internet age, which is why the news about a car gift between her children elicited varied responses amongst netizens.
It would have been a non-issue if not for the fact that the giver is her 13-year old daughter while the recipient is a 9-year-old boy.
Many commentators had speculated on the need for such ostentatious display of wealth, considering the daughter definitely could not have afforded to purchase a car.
In conclusion, the onus is on parents to shield their children from the influences of social media (read: celebrities) in order to live their childhood without the attendant pressures that comes with adulthood.
What are your thoughts about Laide Bakare’s action?
