Popular Nigerian singer, Bankole Wellington, also known as Banky W, has won PDP House of Representatives ticket for Eti-Osa constituency.
In the rerun election, Banky W had a landslide victory, polling 24 votes out of 29 votes cast by delegates.

He contested against a legal practitioner, Mr Sam Aiboni, who polled five votes.

The latest development comes two weeks after he was earlier declared winner in the election but the result slip showed his counterpart, Aiboni, as the winner.
As a result of the controversies that trailed the primary, another election was scheduled for today, Monday.
Reacting to the victory, Banky W shared a video of himself appreciating party members and delegates for accepting.
He then charged Nigerians to arm themselves with their Permanent Voters’ Card for the forthcoming 2023 general election.

Also, his campaign team stated:
While we are grateful for our success at the primaries, we are completely heartbroken at the state of our nation.
We must play our part in fixing the Nation, and we must get into the system to help fix it. Our work begins now. Please join us.
