Wizkid Brokeshames Nigerian Rappers Amidst Criticism Of Industry
Ayo Balogun, also known as Wizkid, a Grammy Award-winning artist from Nigeria, has reacted to Nigerian rappers by frowning over his contentious statement regarding rap music.
According to Wizkid in an interview with 10 Magazine, rap music is monotonous and lifeless, hence he doesn’t listen to it.
Afrobeats, according to Wizkid, is the new pop music. He claimed to have sold two million copies of one of his songs in America.

The singer claims that because rap musicians frequently repeat beats and flows, listening to rap is tiresome.
Rappers from Nigeria like Blaqbonez, Oladips, MI Abaga, and many others expressed anger with the comments in response.
Taking to his Snapchat, Wizkid described Oladips and others who are criticizing him over the ‘rap is dead’ comment’ as broke boys.
According to the ‘Ojulegba’ crooner, he was not talking about other upcoming rappers because they aren’t even rappers.
He further stated that Nasty C, Sarkodie, and Black Sheriff are the only rappers in Africa.
Still making a mockery of Nigerian rappers, the singer advised them to keep sending their rap videos, as he would be watching and might probably consider helping them.
He wrote;
Can’t believe broke boys really thought Big Wiz will talk abt y’all wow! Y’all not even rappers! Nasty C/Sarkodie/Black Sheriff the only rappers in Africa. Y’all dick fucks.
Y’all keep sending una poppy rap videos! I go dey watch maybe I fit help una mama life!
