Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has deployed its personnel across the states where the governorship and state assemblies’ elections will be held today (Saturday).
The teams led by senior officers began arriving at their assigned locations earlier on Friday, with a number of them consulting with other security agencies involved in election security and officials of INEC.

The spokesman for the anti-graft agency, Wilson Uwujaren, disclosed this in a statement on Friday.
The Ebonyi State team members arrived at Abakaliki and met with the Commissioner of Police to register their presence before proceeding to the state INEC headquarters for a brief meeting with the Resident Electoral Commissioner.
Officers of the Kaduna Zonal Command led by Mustapha Abubakar, on election monitoring duty in Niger State, also met with the Commissioner of Police, J. A. Ogundele, and also visited the state REC, Ahmed Garki.
Officers of the Abuja Zonal Command led by Adeniyi Adebayo, who were deployed in Nasarawa State, visited the state police command headquarters, Lafia, and had a brief meeting with the Commissioner of Police.
Uwujaren noted that the brief of the teams was to deter vote trading and other financial malpractices that could compromise the integrity of the elections.
The Chairman, EFCC, Abdulrasheed Bawa, had in a message to the teams before the presidential and National Assembly elections charged them to exhibit a high sense of integrity, professionalism and ensure that the election was devoid of financial malpractices, especially inducement of voters.

Meanwhile, the Anambra State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr Elizabeth Agwu, has warned political parties and candidates participating in the House of Assembly election in the state not to come to any of the polling units with Point of Sale terminals for the purpose of vote-buying.
Agwu threatened that any party agent or supporter caught with the device would be dealt with in accordance with the Electoral Act.
She said the commission received reports that during the last elections, some political parties, candidates and supporters visited some polling units with PoS machines, which they allegedly used in buying votes.
Agwu gave the warning at the commission’s headquarters in Awka on Friday while updating journalists on the commission’s readiness for the elections.
