Nigerian comedian, Bright Okpocha who is better known as Basketmouth in a recent interview has stated that he has indeed separated from his wife, Elsie Okpocha.
The popular comedian made this known in a recent conversation with a Ghanaian news platform.
It would be recalled that Basketmouth in the concluding part of 2022 stated that himself and his wife are no longer together.
In December, the comedian released a statement on social media announcing that he and Elsie were going their separate ways after 12 years of marriage.

Some people thought it was a joke, but Basketmouth has now confirmed that they are indeed separated.
Here is what he stated at the time,
“As much as it pains me to bring my personal life to the public space, this is an unavoidable situation.”
He continued, “After much deliberations, my wife and I have made the difficult decision to end out marriage.”

“As we move forward separately, we will continue to work together to give our beautiful children all the care, love, guidance and support they need.”
The concluding part of his statement read, “We humbly ask that you respect our privacy as we navigate through these times. Thank you.”
In an interview he had in Ghana recently, the dad of four said;
‘’I am seperated right now. People thought it was a joke but it wasn’t. Some people were like do you want to promote a show and I was like you definitely do not know my design. I do not bring my personal matter on a public platform but it was something I needed to do and for reasons best known to me. ‘’
He said he and Elsie are ‘’cool” and that he made the announcement after they had celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary.
