In an exclusive interview with MDB on Sunday, a high-level staff with the bank revealed that some of the staff involved has been sacked after some high-worth customers decided to close their accounts due to the glitch.
“It is a very serious case and some workers have been sacked by the management; a meeting was convened in selected branches over the weekend in order to redress the issue. Hopefully, everything will be resolved by this week,” the source who preferred to be anonymous stated.
Meanwhile, GTBank is yet to issue an official statement to customers as the GTWorld application remains inaccessible, with many resorting to the short code or ATM for transactions.
