MAMMAN: Minister of Education’s Phone Hacked, Nigerians Warned To Beware of Scammers

Professor Tahir Mamman, Nigeria’s Minister of Education, has fallen victim to phone hacking. In a warning posted on his official X account, Mamman alerted the public to refrain from communicating through his compromised number, urging them to ignore any messages requesting assistance until the issue is resolved.

The Ministry of Education swiftly confirmed the breach, issuing a statement through Director of Press and Public Relations, Boriowo Folasade.

The ministry’s statement revealed that unauthorized individuals are currently using the hacked WhatsApp number. The public is advised to disregard any requests received from this number until further notice. The matter has been reported to relevant authorities and is under investigation.

The statement read, “The Office of the Honourable Minister of Education, Professor Tahir Mamman, wishes to inform the general public that the Minister’s WhatsApp number has been hacked and is currently being used by unauthorised individuals.

“We deeply regret any inconvenience this may cause and urge everyone to disregard any message of request received from the said number until further notice.

“The matter has been reported to the relevant authorities and is under investigation. We advise all members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.”
