Scenes as Angry Traders Dump Coffins At TB Joshua’s Synagogue Church Of All Nations
In a rather shocking development, angry traders have reportedly deposited 37 coffins at the premises of The Synagogue Church of all Nations (SCOAN) in Kampala, the Ugandan capital.
The coffins were dumped in the church compound after the coffin dealers accused officials of the church of blocking drainage channels in the area and in the process diverting drainage water into their business premises.
Police officers at the Wandegeya Division Police Station are said to have confiscated the coffins in a bid to prevent the protest from getting out of hand, Punch writes.
It is understood that the traders have refused to reclaim them.
Over 18 people were arrested during the protests and later released on police bond.
The Kampala Metropolitan police through its spokesperson, Emilian Kayima, are now begging the traders to come and carry their coffins away, adding that they are occupying vital space.
Founded by Nigerian Pastor, TB Joshua, the Synagogue Church is one of the most popular Christian congregations on the African continent, with thousands flocking its headquarters in Lagos, Nigeria, for fellowship and all kinds of miracles.
The church, however, has been mired in a number of controversies, particularly the 2014 collapse of its building that killed over 115 people.
No official statement has been released concerning this bizarre development.
