Mo Adeniran: Watch Top 5 Performances Of Nigerian Guy Who Was Crowned Winner Of The Voice UK 2017
Another Nigerian star is born, this time it is Mo Adeniran who was crowned winner of the The Voice UK 2017 yesterday.
According to Digital Spy, Mo battled Jamie Miller and singing group ‘Into The Ark’ for the crown, but the Nigerian star swept in all the support following his heartmelting rendition of Paolo Nutini’s Iron Sky.
Mo was born in foster care and as a child, he was adopted by a mother who later turned violent and had to be taken away from her 5 years later.
“Five years later I had to be taken off my adopted mum. To put it bluntly, she wasn’t the nicest person,” Mo told Daily Stay. “Social services stepped in. They saved me. It was a physical thing. She could be very hands on at times. Things happened that weren’t right.”
Mo found music, and in his January interview on Lorraine Show, said music was the place of solace and escape him during his chaotic childhood.
“When I was going through different experiences when I was younger if I didn’t understand what was going on, the way I would interpret the feeling was through music,” the 21-year-old said on Lorraine Show.
“I feel very blessed for the life I have lived. I had so many people in my life to look after me and care for me. They have given me a better advantage than a lot of people,” the singer added.
Now, Mo Adeniran is the hottest star, just like it was for A’rese who won the first season of the Nigerian version of same competition.
Last night, the singer had to be nudged to come forward after he was declared the winner, because he didn’t believe he made it.
“I want to say thank you to everyone at home and here that supported me,” he said later. “I want to say an amazing thank you to the most phenomenal person I’ve ever met in my life.“
