Seller Calls Out Jumia On Instagram Over Fraudulent Activities
A lady, Damola this morning took to Instagram to call out Jumia online over fraudulent transactions and shady dealings.
Read her narration of events below:
“Hello People,
It’s high time for the world to know that Jumia Nigeria @jumiaonline an Online Platform in Nigeria is a Scam and a Fraudulent company.
This company has no personal products of their own sold on the Platform Jumia.com but run their business with Small Scale Businesses who register as merchants to sell on their platform with them making commissions on whatever is sold.
Now I have been on this platform for close to 2yrs and is been hell, from their unprofessional staffs to Deducting your money fraudulently and unjustly.
They introduced a penalty charge some months ago to cub merchants that sells fake products which am in total support of, however they begin to levy penalties unnecessarily just because a target was made for their drop off centers on the numbers of penalty charges to be reported just because they want to reap from where they did not sow.
I received a penalty of N10,000 for a UK Oxford shoe I uploaded at N5000 but reduced to N2500(Since it was one of my old stock) and they sent me a penalty to charge for sending a wrong product. I replied then immediately with their CEO in copy and I got a reply with apologies that there was no evidence that it was a wrong product, eventually this product was delivered.
Last week they sent in another one which I rejected immediately with evidence of my attached screen shot.
This year alone Jumia has made a total commission of N318,348.4 and another fraudulent deduction of N 71,394 for a penalty charge God knows what that is meant for. Yet they claim they compensate customers whose orders where not fulfilled by merchants but I have never received neither have i heard anyone been compensated b4.
They introduced Jumia Global with sellers from China with inferior products which has to be paid for and you cannot return just to kill small scale businesses in Nigeria
Just this evening I noticed my account was disabled with over 30 of my products still in their possession and my money also not accountable for as am unable to access their portal
I will share more comments from Sellers and Buyer next.
