3-Month-Old Baby, Mother And Others Killed By Fuel Tanker In Ibadan
An accident which occurred near the Palms mall, at Ring road, Ibadan, Oyo State involving a fully loaded fuel tanker and a motorcycle, reportedly led to the death of a mom, her 3-months-old baby and 4 others.
The fuel tanker which had a brake failure, rammed into a motorcycle the lady and her 3-months-old baby were on, killing them and two other bike riders instantly. Firefighters reportedly arrived shortly after to forestall any explosion, while the mangled bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the Adeoyo State hospital.
Few months ago, it was also reported that a newborn baby and four others, including mother of the child, died in a fatal accident along the NPA Expressway, near the Nigerian Army Barracks in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.
It was gathered that that the deceased defied the Delta State Government’s ban on commercial tricycle plying the expressway. An eyewitness, who craved anonymity told DAILY POST that a commercial tricycle conveying the victims from Roundabout axis, enroute Shaguolo/Ugbuwangue was on a very high speed.
“However, in a bid to overtake a car, it developed brake failure, veered off the road and rammed into a trailer parked along the Expressway.
“The incident claimed the lives of the newborn baby and the mother with two girls (passengers) and that of the tricycle operator instantly,” the source said.
