Lagos Airport Hotel Denies Hosting First Nigeria’s Coronavirus Patient
The Managing Director of Lagos Airport Hotel Limited, Mr Kayode Bakare, has denied reports that the Italian who came into Nigeria infected with Coronavirus lodged at the hotel.
Speaking at a press conference in Lagos on February 3, Bakare told the public to disregard the reports.
He said;
In the said interview said to have been granted by the Industrial Director of Lafarge, Mr Segun Soyoye, he was quoted to have said the Italian came for a business visit. He was in Lagos on Monday and slept at Airport Hotel, Ikeja. Our driver took him there.
However, the management of the hotel wish to state categorically that at no time did the Italian who was in Nigeria on a business meeting with Lafarge Plc lodge at Lagos Airport Hotel Limited, Ikeja.
He added that the hotel’s manifest for February 24 when the Italian arrived in Nigeria was available to anyone to cross-check.
Bakare also urged the public to disregard the story credited to the News Agency of Nigeria.
