Mixed Reactions Trail ‘Coronavirus Cure’ Recommended By Ooni Of Ife
Mixed reactions have trailed the herbal medicine recommended by Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Ogunwusi, as the cure for the deadly Coronavirus disease that has killed over 39,000 people worldwide.
Ooni of Ife in a video posted on Twitter on March 30, claimed that several herbal herbs like onions, African pepper and neem tree among others can be used to treat Coronavirus.

In the post, the monarch added that the herbs can achieve the desired result when used individually or mixed together to produce an incense.

However, hours after he made his revelation, the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) tweeted stating that people should “Beware of unverified messages on social media!”.
Furthermore, the Ooni’s message also sparked controversy on the micro-blogging social networking platform on whether or not it’s high time researchers focused on traditional herbs for the cure for Coronavirus.
See some reactions below:
The way Nigeria is wired, there is no medical solution that can come out from here & accepted globally. Be it from Ooni or our best Profs of Pharmacy. Why? Bcos Nigerians would have already championed the mockery that the world will make of it. Then accept it when resold to us.

Scenes when Ooni of Ife tests positive for COVID-19 and he can’t cure himself with bitterleaf, onions and ugwu.

Ooni announced a herbal solution for #COVID19 some people are talking against him.
Even if Jesus is to be on earth today, performing a miracle, healing the affected people. some people will doubt him, they will still talk against him. pic.twitter.com/j5EnmGB8ue

I think ooni is taking this Coronavirus for toilet infection.

Trump said chloroquine will cure #COVID19 , we hailed and clapped him but Ooni of Ife is giving us herbs that will cure the same virus buy we are saying he’s talking in the nonsense. Let’s be honest, he’s talking in the jargons 🤣🤣

If the OONI of Ife claims to have the herbal cure for #COVID19,i think we should really give a listening ear.
We are at that point where we cannot dismiss any solution and let’s NOT just believe that only western medicines is POTENT
Before westernization, we still had our herbs pic.twitter.com/g6hF9jeOI6

Ooni is influential/rich enough to fund a scientific research (alone or jointly with other monarchs) into his claims that those herbs can cure Coronavirus, he can then present his findings to NAFDAC and the FG.
Unfounded claims shouldn’t be coming from a figure like him.

These claims are WRONG.
The Ooni is NOT a medical doctor or a virologist. This is abuse of office to mislead and misinform the public.
You will never hear the Queen of England, the Sultan of Brunei, the King of Saudi Arabia or the Emir of Abu Dhabi say such dangerous nonsense. https://t.co/8W9Wp5TQ4f

We will need to use the Ooni himself for the practical test to verify this information. https://t.co/A70MouUHr9

If the Ooni of Ife says he has a possible HERBAL cure for the Coronavirus, government should investigate the claim scientifically. There is no need to insult him or call for his arrest. We haven’t arrested people diagnosing “spiritual attack” or those claiming to perform miracles

I don’t think we should be too quick to come to conclusions as regards the coronavirus herbal cure recommended by the Ooni of Ife. We shouldn’t let civilization make us doubt the potency of trado medical discoveries. The best thing to do is to take 1 or 2 cases to Osun to treat.

I’m a huge fan of pharmacognosy.
I believe the Ooni of Ife. It is more efficient, considering the fact it will be 100% organic.
Coronavirus requires a lower pH to gain access to the nucleus.
Quinine/chloroquine has an antiviral effect.
It increases the pH and inhibits the access. pic.twitter.com/4bqFiWHRxg— Anambra 1st son💭 (@UchePOkoye) March 30, 2020
Y’all bashing Ooni, well. It’s mere ignorance. A black man called Dr Sebi has been curing HiV and ALL diseases KNOWN to mankind since 1970s. He even won USA in court in 1987 February 10, when they accused him of doing fake drugs.

I hope the Ooni is arrested for pushing unconfirmed alternative health care that can lead to loss of lives.

My own is that whatever solutions proposed by anyone at this time as a possible cure for Coronavirus should not just be wished away. After all English medicines are a product of nature that’s processed. If Ooni says he has one let’s put it to test. #COVID19 pic.twitter.com/BTamsU2xRa
