First runner up, Big Brother Naija season 3, Mike Edwards and his wife, Perri Shakes-Drayton are expecting their first child together.
The couple who tied the knot in May 2019, in London, took to Instagram to share the exciting news.
“Great news we can finally share our secret with you… WE’RE HAVING A BABY!!!,” the proud dad-to-be wrote.
This is coming months after Perri Edwards announced her retirement from athletics. The track and field athlete had in February 2020 announced the end of her 16-year career.
Mike, who owns the first Black-owned cigar line in the United Kingdom, was the only married man on the season 3 of the wildly viewed reality show.
It would be recalled that while in the house, the Lagos native, stole the hearts of many for staying true to his marital vows and not cheating on his wife.
However, in an interview he granted shortly after leaving the house, Mike explained that he had no reason to cheat on his newly wedded spouse.
“If I were unmarried, I wouldn’t have been in the House. I also commend the guys that went into the House and weren’t distracted. For me, there was no reason or excuse (to cheat on my wife), because there were other single guys in the House who did nothing too. I had made a commitment to my wife on the day I said “I do” to her at the altar. I have made the decision for a long time. BBN was just a game.”
The couple who is now fully back in the UK (after shuttling Nigeria and their home country because of post publicity for Big Brother) has also started a YouTube show. They talked extensively about their journey to getting pregnant, on the first episode uploaded on their channel.
