Former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has firmly denied any involvement in the recent appearance of campaign posters across Abuja suggesting he is vying for the position of National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement released on Thursday by the Yahaya Bello Media Office and signed by its Director, Michael Ohiare, the former governor disassociated himself from the posters, describing them as the handiwork of mischief makers determined to tarnish his image.
Ohiare said the appearance of the posters in various locations within the Federal Capital Territory came as a surprise to the former governor and his associates.
“They (the mischief makers) are at it again, having failed on many fronts in their desperate ‘bring-him-down-at-all-costs’ mission,” Ohiare stated.
He emphasised that while such stunts would typically be ignored, the recurrence of similar tactics has made it necessary to set the record straight.

“As a committed party man, his support for President Bola Tinubu’s leadership has never been in doubt,” he added, reaffirming Bello’s loyalty to the APC and its leadership.
Ohiare further noted that the idea of Yahaya Bello printing or endorsing such campaign posters is implausible, particularly given the existing internal structures and processes of the party.
“Since this is not the first time mischief makers have printed posters in his name, silence is no longer an option,” the media aide stated.
He stressed that no individual or group was ever authorised—either directly or indirectly—to produce or circulate such campaign materials on Bello’s behalf.
Ohiare called on the public to disregard what he described as a deliberate attempt to embarrass the former governor and distort public perception.
