This New Condom Is So Strong You Can’t Rip With A Needle

Sex toy brand LELO have made HEX, a groundbreaking condom featuring innovative design and construction. And the face of HEX is none other than American actor-Charlie Sheen, who HIV-positive.

As we all know condoms make sex less fun, but they’re also a necessity. That’s about to change, however, as LELO are launching HEX, a major revolution in condom design.

According to LELO, HEX condoms represent one of the first major advances in condom technology since the reservoir tip was added almost 70 years ago.

The biggest design change is the inclusion of 350 hexagonal panels distributed throughout the condom. These allow the condom to be exceptionally thin (for enhanced sensation), while eliminating one of the major risks: breakage.

The 20-year-old company, named it the “Apple of the pleasure products industry,” has reinvented the rubber.

From images, the HEX condom looks pretty ordinary – an eggshell-coloured piece of latex that unrolls into a phallic shape. But up close, it becomes apparent where the name comes from. A faint, hexagonal patterned honeycomb lattice is etched into the material which makes the eye-catching design part of a condom that is stronger, less likely to tear, and potentially more comfortable than a traditional condom.

Most condom manufactures focus on thinness. In this aspect, the HEX is nothing special. The web is about 0.055 mm thick and the panels within the web, which make up 96 percent of the condom, are 0.045 mm thick. That’s better than most, but a little more than double the thickness of certain “ultra-thin” condoms now available.
