Outcry Over $12.1 Million Kogi Governor Borrowed To Buy Cars

Deji Adeyanju, Director of New Media of Nigeria’s main opposition political party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has raised alarm over the sum of $12.1 million borrowed by Kogi state Governor Yahaya Bello for the purchase of cars for his government.


A letter showing the approval of a  12.1 million dollars loan for the purchase of 109 vehicles has also been made public, leading to Nigerians on social medial expressing censure over how the Governor could spend such an insane amount of money on ‘cars’ during this dire time in the nations economy.

According to the approval, the loan which was obtained from Zenith Bank, Lokoja, has a fixed interest rate of 8%.

Just to be clear the story  is 100% true and has been confirmed by a commissioner in the state who has tried to defend the loan through a statement which MDB is yet to receive.
