I don’t even know where to begin. Ok I’d start by saying a big Thank you to God Almighty for his unending mercies and grace. You see, everything about my life till date has been carefully planned by God (You will learn more about me in due course). Even though I fail to see it immediately it plays out, I later get an epiphany revealing why these things happened, and how it all worked for my good.
For sometime now-over a year, I have been thinking of rebranding my blog. I had planned on doing it in grand style, but I kept procrastinating. However last week the unimaginable happened. On Monday 9th of November to be precise, Google deactivated my blog for reasons I still do not know . Yes, my website was hosted on Google and I wasn’t wise enough to learn from the experience of others.
At first it was like a bad, shattering dream when my blog was deactivated. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I tried to log in and saw the message written in red. Just like that I no longer had access to everything I had done in the last three years. For the record I started my blog on 28 of August 2012. (Remember this date, it could win you a car sometime soon…lol).
But no, it was not a dream. My blog had been yanked off by google, for violating one of their many policies which I have tried to strictly adhere to in the last three years. Just like that I had to start over. I was devastated. In fact, devastated is a GROSS understatement. I broke down in tears and wept like a baby. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I have always supported others and never hated or envied anyone’s success. So why was this happening to me now, when I was trying to take my blog to the next level, “Why? Why???” I wondered out loud.
My friend whom I was with consoled me and told me to look at the bright side. He said “every time things seemed tough or I thought I lost something major , God always pointed me to a better direction and gave me more than I had before. You should see this experience in the same light. Start afresh-whether or not Google releases your blog. You will bounce back even better,” he said.
Then and there I wiped my tears and made up my mind not to cry over spilt milk. I decided that I would not let this hurdle slow me down, and I will do what needs to be done and bounce back even better. I decided to build a new blog and continue with that, pending the time Google releases my blog. When they do, it will just be like moving my belongings (my old stories to this new website) to a new apartment. If they don’t-Oh well! I’m here to stay. I built the mojidelano brand from sheer hard work, and would continue to put in the work here again.
So I officially welcome you all my esteemed MDB readers to my new and improved blog. Here, I promise to serve you guys better and interact more. I will also be sharing my views on my stories. This blog is news (and more) from my perspective. Blogging is ‘Opinion Journalism’, and on my blog I am entitled to give my opinion. In fact the only reason why some MDBers come here after they have read the story else where is to see my perspective. From now on I plan to give that more. Please feel free to disagree. After all the beauty of life is in diversity and our ability to see things from different points of view. If you want to yab me sef its allowed-so long as it pertains to the subject matter, your comments will be posted. Change is the only constant thing, but this is not from the stand point of being an APC member. Abeg o, I belong to no political party…lol.
Now I want to thank everyone specially for their support and love.
Special thanks to everyone who has stuck with me from the beginning till now. Although some of you have grown LAZY (you need to start commenting again o), I know you continue to support me and MDB as a whole. Sandra Harry, Femi Idowu, Seun Olowolagba are some of those who have been with me from inception, and I appreciate the support. Seun recently told me he is at NYSC camp so he barely has time to really surf the net. Mrs Harry, you are yet to give me your excuse o! The Twinsssss (She has two beautiful sets of twins) are grown up now, you have two additional degrees, so I want to start seeing your handwork here again…lol. Femi Idowu has been AWOL but I still see his comments once in a while. MDB misses him.
To the people who joined us along the way, I salute you. BOMI the GREAT! He was the first person to comment on the blog, even while we were testing. Such is the dedication and love of this intelligent, and busy young man to MDB. I appreciate your comments and input, and I pray God blesses you in all your endeavours. Tolu, the GREAT Lionheart. Thank you for being there, thank you for your comments, encouragement. I truly appreciate you. Seyi ‘Shai’ Edun has also been very very consistent on the blog, but is currently on leave. She is busy winning awards from one country to the other and the last time she was sited on the MDB Global radar, she was in the USA. Seyi Edun is a multiple award winning movie producer and actress, but despite her busy schedule has been a staunch supporter of the blog. Thank you very much Seyi, even though you refused to give me lead character in one of your blockbuster movies…lol. God bless you dear.
Sunday Odugbesan, a true MDB fanatic. You pinged me to tell me you loved the new blog design even before I spread the word that the blog was back up. You have remained devoted and consistent over the years, I appreciate you.
To every one who had been supporting and encouraging me and not leaving comments…awon #TeamTosinMann-always sending me stories and news I may be interested in. I appreciate the love, but I no wan hear story from now on o. I must see your comments o. Yes na by force, lol. This is CHANGE O. But seriously guys, Thank you for the love. Tosin has grown to be like a sister to me. She has comforted me this week and supported me as I tried to put together my new blog.
Kemi Filani thank you for your efforts in trying to see my blog get restored. I appreciate you and your work. Helen Ozor, Lolade, thank you for caring. My darling Bukola-Shawttynatt, you are my sister and you have been there through some of my most trying times in recent years. You are kind, patient, empathetic, supportive and understanding. I am thankful for your friendship and pray that God gives all the happiness you deserve. Thank you.
Toyosi Ayeni, my dearest friend turned sister from way back. Always supportive, objective and truthful. My love for you knows no bounds, Thank you.
My friend, business partner, and mentor Joseph Edgar, thank you for all your encouragement and incredible ideas to make my blog better. You are a genius, in a class of your own.
Last but CERTAINLY not the least my wonderful mum, the world’s best mum, the one who has supported me in everyway possible and molded me into the woman I am today, words CANNOT express how thankful I am to you. I look at you and keep praying that God gives me the strength, insight and wisdom you possess when I’m your age. Even though you’d prefer seeing me practice as a lawyer and become a judge, you have supported my decision to be a blogger and Digital media expert in every way possible. Your love is one of the things I am thankful for daily, and I can only ask God to bless you for me. I pray that you live long, and enjoy the well deserved fruit of your labour. Abiamo tooto! Love you mummy, Thank you.
Once again, thank you to all MDB readers who have supported the mojidelano brand. If I start to mention names we no go leave here o…lol. Your continued support is one of the reasons I have come this far and it can only get better from this point. I plead for your continued support and pray that God blesses you all in your endeavours.
Lets start this beautiful new phase together, Cheers to new beginnings!
